I go to art class once a week and when I was doing oils this is one of the unfinished ones...it is so hard to get back into color after doing charcoal for 3 yrs I only started in oils in 2003 then in 2004 started using charcoal again after not drawing since 1983

I did this one in a oils workshop ...

this is an oil painting I haven't finished, I read and reread books on rembrant style painting and then started this painting..but have a few that I lost the urge to finish..hopefully will get back to oils again...

Close up of the eye's...charcoal dark to light with gum eraser..put in the dark and lift out highlights...and blend blend blend....the stonehedge paper really takes a beating but is great...tried charcoal paper again and just can't go back...
